CREW’s Youth Outreach

After launching in November 2023 with a Young People’s Assembly attended by young people aged 8 to 14, we launched an afterschool club in collaboration with the EYE Project (Eco Young Engaged). We ran for two terms, firstly in our South Street shop and then at the collaborative workspace, Freedom Works. We held a variety of workshops, also at youth clubs including sessions on:

● Creative ways to use recycled materials

● An introduction to Climate Fresk

● Mindful collaging

● A climate justice and art workshop by Gil Mualem-Doron

● Wellbeing and mindfulness when experiencing eco anxiety

After some reflection, in December 2024 we started reaching out directly to schools to run workshops with students. This has been incredibly popular with both staff and students where we have designed bespoke sessions according to the school’s needs.
